Stage 2: Coffee and introductions.

So in the end, that chance meeting had led me here, where I'm now. Enjoying a cup of coffee with two girls, Loretta and Yvette, whom both I only met just today. Well, to be more accurate, the place I'm at is a small cafe, the sort of an old shop with a homely atmosphere. The interior somehow gave me an odd feeling of nostalgia, even if I'm way too young to be feeling anything like that. Well, I was trying to my very best to enjoy every little detail here, the reason being that I was paying for both Yvette and Loretta as well. While I've heard about being a gentleman and all that, it still felt a little weird, considering that it was Yvette who invited me and not the other way around. But despite that argument, I ended up paying anyhow. Apparently it's a 'copyright fee' or something, for using Loretta in my photography... That's right, thinking back made me realize it yet again: All this had started because of that one picture that I took. But where it would take me next, I still had no idea.

The conversation which followed immediately afterwards went something along these lines.
"So, let's get this started then. We already know each other's names, yet nothing else. This calls for introductions! But I won't accept any normal ones, you have to do it in a way that's interesting!"
The one responsible for the previous nonsense was obviously Yvette. I had only met her 20 minutes ago, but I had already noticed, that this sort of spontaneous and 'over- the- top' -sort of thinking was a trademark of hers. Putting Yvette's attitude aside, what she had said actually made sense, since I still knew nothing about these two, aside from the first impressions.
"Yvette, that's embarrassing. I can't..."
Loretta, the tiny, frail and brown-haired girl, dressed  in a long and simple type of one piece dress, drank her coffee in a nervous manner. The way she blushed while saying that, was also the very image of pureness. Yeah, somebody just stop me with this, before I get all embarrassed myself. As I was busy trying to get my thoughts back in order, Yvette went ahead and started her intro.
"Okay, then I'll go first. With her sharp tongue, and hot looks, always shining in the spotlight, the queen of the Lein arts campus, Yvette Merou!"
"Everything you just said was shameless self-promotion, and the only thing I could really tell from that is that we actually study at the same campus."
"Hey, don't sweat the small details. Why don't you go next? And remember to make it interesting!"
Pushing her point, without caring a single bit about my retort, Yvette passed the ball to me.
"Fine. Let's see what I can make up...  Ambitiously aiming for his true vision, the cool sniper of Lein arts photography department, Lenard Aucoin."
What resulted from my improvised introduction, was a rapid burst of laughter from Yvette's direction.
"Hah, I can't remember the last time I laughed this much... Cool sniper... Oh no, I'll start laughing again if I think about it."
" Yeah, I get it. Let's move on... What about you, Loretta?"
The girl in question paused for a little while and then opened her mouth hesitantly.
"Carelessly dreaming of the skies, painting the world with her own colors... Ah, sorry. I've only come up with this much... Uh, my full name is Loretta Reyes and..."
Her introduction was just like she herself, fluffy, soft, and a bit out of it.
"Ah, don't mind. I actually think that the start was sort of cool..."
"Really? ...Thank you, Len."

Anyhow, with the intros done and our coffees finished, Yvette wrapped it all up with:
"Heh, despite that intro of yours, you seem like a reliable guy in the end... Here, that's her number. And mine just in case too."
With that said, I saved their numbers to my cell phone's memory and send each one a mail to confirm that everything was in order. Even if it was completely unnecessary, both of them also answered to my mails. Note that all three of us were still sitting around the same table! Moving on, Yvette's mail read:
"Okay. Now handle the bill! Cya."
Smiling in a mean yet somehow captivating way, she left the scene before I could say or type in any kind of response. On the other hand, Loretta's message read:
"Sorry,  please don't mind Yvette. She's a bit mean and weird sometimes, but still a good friend. I hope to you see again some other day."
In other words, it was a sweet and caring message, just like she herself... With her message delivered, Loretta rose from the table, preparing to leave.
"Uh, Don't worry about it, I'll see you around then."
"Um... okay.
And with that last message, delivered through the traditional means of speech, we parted ways for today.
Why is it that the longer I work on a story, the less easy it gets to write? With this story here, you can really see that pattern... None the less, here it is.
